Changed my life for a day

So yesterday started off pretty rough in our home.  Ken left before the rest of us were up and going.  Jared was demanding and literally right in my face more than I could handle.  Rosie was inconsolably crying for a half hour and I put her down for her first nap at 8:30am.  This made me grouchy and in turn did not help anything else.
We needed a reset for our day.  So, I changed my attitude and here is a list of things that made my day awesome for the remaining hours:
  • Reading books with Jared- he gets the giggles reading some silly books
  • Made cookies- my Aunt Laurie's recipe
  • Ate a lot of cookie dough (it makes Ken uncomfortable, so we have a truce that I don't eat it while I'm pregnant)
  • Made pinterest recipes for dinner- Pizza balls and Watermelon lemonade (or Watermelonade, as we have decided)
  • Jared played in the hollowed out watermelon half for a looooong time.  It was sticky and adorable.
  • Got the kitchen cleaned up after all the baking!
  • Jared put clothespins all over the front of his shirt to be a porcupine
  • Ken came home a little early
  • We bought a new car!  It is a Camry (my favorite) and has everything I wanted- LATCH system, the lock/unlock remote, cruise control and is wide enough for three carseats when that time comes.  Pictures are forthcoming!
  • Rosie has started to try elephant sounds
  • We went to a party and I got to see people I really like
  • I'm getting to the end of my book (Lord of the Ring: Fellowship of the Ring- so it turns out that I am more of a scifi/fantasy nerd than I thought)
  • It was a cool and windy night last night.  We most definitely slept with the windows open.
Good day accomplished.

Glad it turned out well! And congrats on the new car! You're the second one of my friends to buy a Camry in like the last week. Weird. :)

I am now officially stalking you.

And we should eat cookie dough together sometime. :)

You have an amazing talent to see the positive in everything. Way to turn around your day and even anonymously be noticed for it in RS!

That's the spirit! Trying to stay positive no matter what, I admire that! Plus you can't go wrong with my Mom's cookies, they are the bomb.com.

Kelsey, I apoligize but when one received an education in food science .... that just ruined a lot of fun things like I used to enjoy too - such as eating raw cookie dough. So the boys were thoroughly indoctrinated by their mother, the general, to cease and dissist from eating raw cookie doough - it can make you very, very sick. I know - that took all the fun out of life and it was more easy to clean the dishes after they had been licked clean of dough! So you you can see, those where dark days in our house when the cookie dough could not be eaten. HOwever, it doesn't take long to bake cookies and baked cookies - right out of the oven are sooooo delicious. So the sadness lifted and joy and laughter once again filled our home. Yippie!!!!
