Um, nothing.
The New Testament with Ken, but nothing else really.
Anyway, I decided that I ought to read. I picked up a couple of books from the library and then a friend gave me a book. And I have read two of the three in the past week! I'm back!
So first I read Gathering Blue by Lois Lowry. She is the one who wrote The Giver. The Giver is better than this one, but I still liked it. Basically it is about a girl living in a post-apocalyptic society with a bunch of crazy ethics going on. It made me think. So, it's worth the 215 pages.

Last night, I read Leadership and Self-Deception. It is a self help type of book that evaluates "people problems" and how we look at them. It is applicable to families, work, the neighborhood, etc. I have to reevaluate how I see myself and the other people around me. I really enjoyed it and I want Ken to read it. He has had some experience in working in the professional sphere and I think it could alleviate some stress he has had there. I also want him to read The Giver, but we'll see if that happens!
I really enjoyed this week of reading and reconnecting with my intellectual self. I'm now starting Moby Dick, which is significantly longer than the first two, so it might be more challenging to get through!

Dan totally loves L&SD--if Ken needs another recommendation.
One time, in college, I read Moby Dick. And I actually liked it. Long? Yes. Crazy at times? Yes. But you can't beat the pagan tattoo man. He's hilarious.
Don't quote me on that.
Leadership and SD is one of my favorites!! It was great to see you today!
you and your fancy book learnin'.
That's a great book! We have a copy of it here, too. Another great book is Bonds that Make Us Free. Two books that deal more with the business world but also apply to home life are: Crucial Conversations and Crucial Confrontations.
