Wymount Social
We had tons of fun at Wymount's annual opening social. It was fun to go and even better to have a child with us, so we didn't look silly decorating cookies or getting our faces painted. Our quad lost the tug-of-war after two consecutive victories, but we did get free hot dogs and also we won a fuzzy BYU blanket as a door prize.
All in all a very good day!

Then he and Ken took a train ride. Check out them out in that very small compartment (all the seven year olds took the bigger ones). However the guy in the back was probably most uncomfortable.

All in all a very good day!
First off, Jared ate a LOT of sugar.

Our favorite activity
When people who do not have children ask me what I do I have trouble coming up with an answer. I don't go to school or have a job or any serious hobbies or interests. I take care of a baby and everything that goes with it. This means feeding, cleaning up that mess, keeping him out of the toilet, cleaning his toilet-water covered hands, making animal sounds, cleaning up toys, helping him climb on the playground and cleaning sand off him before we go inside (maybe).
But our most favorite thing to do is blocks. I set them up and make some pretty cool creations (if I can brag a bit) while Jared knocks them down as quickly and sillily (a real word?) as possible. It is pretty fun and distracts him from yanking on cords and screaming sometimes too.
However when Ken comes home, Ken helps and encourages Jared to build towers (he is awesome at this parenting thing, huh?). And this week, Jared stacked more than two blocks without knocking them down or them toppling by themselves.

Sweet fruit of the vine
While we were in California, Ken's parent's grapes (everyone with me there?) ripened. So we ate them. Jared was the most enthusiastic.

The feasting begins!
Also consider this my official endorsement of these Baby Bjorn soft bibs. They are awesome!!!!! That pocket (I like to call it a trough) catches everything! It is not some lame sewn in pocket that does nothing but make the bib harder to clean and thus grosser with each use. This baby wipes clean with no effort. Supposedly, it is also dishwasher safe, but I'll let you know in my future, more affluent years if that really holds up.
