Soda Springs

While we were in Preston, ID for a family reunion we decided to make a day trip up to Soda Springs. Ken went there as a child and had fond memories.

It was a pretty cool place. There is soda water coming right up out of the ground. We took some from the spring and added a little drink mix and you could hardly taste the sulfur at all!
We decided to put some in a water bottle to give to little cousins to try, but by the next day the water went from clear and bubbly to a cloudy orange like in the picture. Gross. I drank that.
I guess I should've been tipped off a bit more by the water surrounding the spring and common sense.
Anywho, it really was a fun memory, but the longest I'd ever driven for a drink of gross water.

Feeding time

Over the past seven or eight months, we've fed Jared a lot. Meal time is a time to try and get this lightweight a bit more chunky. Recently, we've been trying to expand his vegetable repertoire. He has decided to turn the situation around. And it is cute so what are we to do?

My sister and corn

This picture is from the Fourth of July this year. We had a picnic with my sister, Annalisa, and her husband, Vance. It was really fun.
I love this picture a lot. It was Jared's first time with a cob of corn (pre-used or not) and he really enjoyed it.
This is also an awesome picture of my sister. She has lived in Provo with me ever since I got here almost 5 years ago. We haven't always gotten along (we're sisters, what do you expect?), but I am so glad for every moment of it. She has been there for me when I've needed a crying shoulder. She has taken me shopping when I didn't have a car. We go to movies together. She is the best babysitter anyone could ask for. She is a good example of kindness and generosity.
She is moving to Indiana in August and I am really sad about it. I wish I could be there to help her when her baby is born this fall, like she did for me. This may be the last time we live in the same city together. But, no matter, it has really been awesome.
Thanks for being so wonderful, Annalisa!

Bridal Veil Falls

We have wanted to go see some waterfalls as a family. So Saturday, we chose the easiest to access one- Bridal Veil Falls. It was fun!

Trying to get a photogenic picture in front of the fall.

Happy Things

Here are a few things that have been making me smile recently.

Ken gave me this flower last week. For NO reason! Well, I had been gone for a few days, but it wasn't Valentine's Day or our anniversary! He is awesome.

These are Water Beads, Aqua Gems, or Magic Water Marbles or any combination of those. I got these in Rexburg while I was visiting my little sister. I don't have a before picture, but this water used to be murky and gross (because I didn't rinse it frequently). They come as tiny little hard plastic-looking spheres and you just add water and they expand and become larger squishier spheres that water your plants. Just rinse weekly.
P.S. Ignore the hard water stains. This won't be a problem anymore!

I got this wall hanging from my Aunt Laurie for Jared. It is, without question, the CUTEST part of his room. Bugs in jars! Genius!

Here is some of the awesome detailing that makes me love it even more!
