Food Love

Ken and I are closer than we have ever been during our three year relationship. Why, you ask?

Hot sauce.

Yes, it's true! I, Kelsey, finally have a deep appreciation for Ken's beloved Tapatio sauce. It all started when we made burritos last week. After seasoning the meat with Taco seasoning and some chili powder, I was quite unsatisfied with the flavor of the meat. The next day, I had half of a burrito that was left-over from the night before. On a whim, I decided to put some of the dangerously potent sauce on my burrito. I put a couple drops on, which is usually to overwhelming for me, but that wasn't enough. I ended up with an amount of sauce that Ken would be proud of.

Maybe it's the hormones or maybe my taste buds are going dead like Ken's. In the end, Ken and I are slowly becoming one*!

Assigned date activity

For our date last Friday, Ken and I watched Hamlet (the Kenneth Branagh version), as it is required for his History of Creativity class. I am very grateful, by the way, to have a husband who not only appreciates, but truly enjoys Shakespeare. The movie has prompted several discussions about loyalty, flaws, passion, family and insanity. We have decided that although Hamlet is the main character, the real hero and entirely good friend is Horatio.

Anyway, after telling a friend about our date night, she informed me that The Lion King is a Disney-ed version of Hamlet.

Think about it.

Taaaaaa- Daaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ken and I have finally decided to go public on the internet- We're having a baby!!!!
The basic run down is that it should be coming around July 4th, I've been feeling great and the general consensus among the family is that it is a girl, but I haven't the faintest hint about it. I thought you would all probably like a beginning shot.

Me at about 14 weeks
(Note: some shape change may be attributed to Christmas fudge)

Ken has decided that it this really is our pregnancy

The baby is the funny shaped blob in the dark bean on the left. It should be more human looking by now.

Ross Family Christmas!

For the record, I am feeling much better. I still have an ugly cough, but the warm semi-humid weather has done wonders! I could sure get used to this sort of Christmas.
Ken and I have had a wonderful Christmas vacation so far! We have had such a blast being with Ken's parents and Ben & Yanghee.
The following pictures are from this past week and a half. I decided that I probably owe this blog some relevant pictures.

Sick

So, joy of joys, my body has decided to succumb to the common cold. So I have a lot of catching up to do because I haven't been up to a whole lot of academics. Most of my time has been spent resting (making up for lost sleep) and trying to make some nice hot drinks to soothe my throat.

But thankfully the finals I have taken so far have gone relatively well.

I hope everyone will be patient with me as I catch up!

Finals Blah

Finals week is fun in many ways. Counting down the number of classes you have left (0). Celebrating every day about how many days left before break (7). Fewer assignments (more deadlines) and group study sessions. I don't know it's fun sort of, but it also means that Ken and I are busier and thus have fewer exciting evenings. Over all, I think I like normal school weeks better. Ah well.
On a more positive note, I babysat yesterday and it was awesome! Also, I'm in charge of our date tonight and I've got some great ideas up my sleeve!

Year-and-a-half-iversary

On our 18 month anniversary (October 26th, for anyone who's counting), Ken and I had our pictures taken by the sweet Annalisa, sister and sister-in-law. She did a great job! I thought that many of you would enjoy seeing those pictures. Some included are great Christmas photo shots and some are just for fun.
Also none of these photos have been edited because Ken hasn't given me any of the edited photos yet, so here you are!

Photographer extraordinaire just before a hair toss.

Half

Today was my half-birthday! I know that it is unusual for people over the age of 7 to recognize half birthdays anymore, but I like to.
Instead of eating cake, I ate half-a-dozen cookies, which I justified doing as it is something half to celebrate. ken and i almost got to spend half of the day together on account of his scocer game, the football game and the ward party. All in all, it was a great day.
