Staying Around

Since it is now completely official, we should tell you:
We're staying at BYU for another 2 years!
Ken was recently accepted to BYU for graduate school and I couldn't be more proud. His research will be in Friction Stir Welding as it has been for the past three years. We feel great about staying (and not moving for now). The news about funding just cinched the deal!

Ken is the best.

Food Fun

On the reccommendation of a baby website, I decided to let Jared do some food painting for dinner. He had peas, peaches and blueberries!

After this picture he had a bath, blow out diaper, another bath, spraying diaper changing session, good wipe down and an exhausted and amused mother!

Semi Nude Baby

Here's some pictures of Jared in the (almost) nude:

He's a fun combination of scrawny and chubby!

Camping Date

Last night, we had an awesome date. I set up the tent that we got for Christmas in our living room. By the way, it took up our ENTIRE living room. This made me realize how tiny our apartment is and appreciate the fact that it is bigger than a tent.

We had hot dogs and marshmallows for dinner (see you later, Healthy Eating Habits). We played cards and talked about our previous camping experiences. And we did some reading by flashlight to end the evening under construction paper stars.

To the Victor

This afternoon, I put Jared on the counter while I was doing dishes (I'm right there). As he was sitting there he found the fruit bowl. After he threw a lime and an apple off the counter he got his hands on a tomato. He had worked so hard at twisting, staying upright and getting his hands on that slippery fruit, I decided to see what happened. Of course it went directly into his mouth and his teeth pierced the flesh. And, boy, did those legs ever kick! I let him go at it for a while and he wouldn't have stopped had I not taken the tomato away. I didn't want him to get too much acid in his inexperienced stomach.
Here is Jared with his spoils:

Morning in a Box

This is how Jared spent half an hour this morning. He loved his play space!

I spy bag

This was an awesome Relief Society activity that I missed, but thankfully a friend brought over the supplies so I could have one too! It is filled with different beads and buttons that you have to search for through the filler. It is too hard for Jared now, but he sure does like to chew on it!

Haircut

Goodbye, winter heaviness! So long, Jared pulling out my hair! Bon Voyage eight month old impossible hair style!
